At La Bellaca we are proud to make available the result of a select and defined genetic pedigree by combining the most important pedigrees of the Aberdeen Angus breed´s history, heading towards the provision of first line animals which will guarantee an exceptional pure breed.
Being producers of the complete cycle, we understand what it means today to raise and fatten up in an Argentine system where, in most cases, the farmland hectares have gone for the best lots on livestock. Latter ones present an obvious nutritional deficiency, which usually leads the breeder to be unable to keep up over the years a steady shape of his mother cows herd, thus losing quality in the weaning, which certainly has a direct impact on the subsequent fattening efficiency.
It is under these aspects where La Bellaca lines up its genetics. Reality shows us an immediate need for restructuring domestic livestock, and we are convinced that it must be built on the foundations of a genetics guaranteeing efficiency at all scales of production.
From our ranch we concretely offer a breeding kind which due to its genetic values, has the best indicators in terms of conversion into kilograms of meat, thus allowing a higher daily gain whatever the productive approach it may be included in is. The added value genetic strain has, in addition to the above mentioned, the ability to respond to types of adverse situations, thus highlighting the ability to preserve and maintain their body condition in approaches where the herds are forced to remain in low lands, plains with low quality / quantity of fodder, or even in areas with low annual rainfall. This is explained in the fact that the cm3 density of meat gained for this kind of breeding is largely more convenient than that of other genetic descents, which at first glance can be seen in a kind of animal of much more modest size (with the same final weight ), where their meat gifts are highlighted, such as the width of the back, good hindquarters and rib width.
For production purposes, we can say that the breeder would be adding value to his herd with the fact that his cow, being genetically maintained facing adverse situations, will lose less lactation capacity (colostrum / milk) than the average, and his calf will mark benefits at the moment of weaning. Just as facing an efficient approach, the milk production will be even greater, which will include his cow in an intensive rearing system without losing shape.
In feed-lot systems, this genetics will provide the producer with a great efficiency in the fattening, obtaining a conversion from kg grain / kg. meat much lower than the rest, allowing the winterer to upload their young bulls in fewer days, at a lower cost.
As our own experience, the company managed producer groups, exported Hilton share to Chile, Russia and Germany, where we noticed the importance of maximizing the produced meat cm3, where the benefits that this kind of genetics contributed to beef yields could be proven.
Since a few years, the Angus Association carries out a very valuable program for genetic evaluation based on the measurement of the own productive performance and of progenies to calculate the DEP (Differences Expected among Progenies) for the characteristics of major commercial importance, such as measurements of growth and of meat characteristics. Latter ones, as already mentioned, are those adding great value to the genetics produced by La Bellaca, obtaining the largest values in % of intramuscular fat, % ribeye area, being leaders in the tenderness indicators.
La Bellaca concretely offers the producer genetics being consistent with the measures required by a system which day-to-day demands us to be even more competent and intensive.
From the livestock sphere, we believe that we are not in a condition today of losing ground and opportunities, as we have a global elite genetics, the profession and the continuous improvement through applied technology so as to move forward and put farming where it really belongs.
